Another Checkup

eric   November 29th, 2005      1 comment...cool!

We were supposed to have our level 2 ultrasound yesterday but they didn’t schedule enough time so we will have to wait until the next appointment. The level 2 ultrasound is the one where they look at every nook and cranny on each baby looking for anything abnormal.

The babies are about 1/2 pound each. It’s amazing they all fit in Tobie’s belly. It looks like close quarters in there. The nurse assured us there was plenty of fluid separating the babies.

We want to thank everyone that has given us gear for the babies. It’s much appreciated. We are still not sure what we need, but we know we need it in threes!

    17.5 weeks - 1/2 there!

We are officialy half way there. Tobie is still doing well. The belly has really started to itch. As you can see from the picture , it’s still growing. Tobie is drinking roughly 2 gallons of milk every couple of days. I think we need to invest in a dairy farm.

    Doctor’s appointment and other stuff

eric   November 16th, 2005      Comments Off

Tobie had another doctor appointment last Monday. She was worried about her weight gain. Since I got her sick, she hasn’t been eating a lot (I know I suck for getting a pregnant woman sick). The diet plan we have her on requires her to gain 1.5 pounds a week through this second trimester. But seriously, what kind of diet plan requires you to gain weight? But once again Tobie proves she is far superior to the average woman. Hello 6 pounds in 2 weeks. We also got 100% confirmation about the sex of the babies. We weren’t 100% sure it was going to be 1 boy 2 girls, but were just too excited not to tell anyone. On her next visit they will do the full workup looking for anything wrong with the babies.

Now it’s time to answer some view mail:
Q: You have pictures of Tobie, what about daddy?
    A:
You crack me up. I won’t be a dad until the babies come. For the time being I’m an expectant daddy. Sheesh. And besides, nobody wants to see pictures of a 30 something man who isn’t aging gracefully.

    Q: Are your babies identical?
A: When is the last time you saw twins of opposite sex that looked exactly alike? That’s what I thought. No, these babies are fraternal. However I do believe there could be a slight chance that the 2 girls could be identical. One egg could have divided into 2 eggs. Since they are in separate sacs, I think this isn’t likely. But what do I know, I’m a programmer, not a doctor!

Q: How are you going to manage when the babies come?
A: What is the point of this question? Stop it.

Q: Are you going to have all your babies’ names start with the same letter?
A: That is lame. We would never do that. However we have picked out the names. Are you ready? Here they are: Tobie Jr., Tobie Jr., and Eric Jr.

Q: Did you guys mean to have triplets?
    A: Say what?

    Q: You are getting big!
A: I assume you are referring to Tobie. Anways, that’s not a question! Move on.

Q: Are you getting sleep now, because you won’t when the babies come?
A: People keep asking me this question. I would like to respond with another question. If you were training for a marathon would stop running until that marathon? Of course not. In fact I have decided that I will only get 2 hours of sleep at a time. That way I will be ready for the trips. I have to go now, I need to be put down for 2 hours. Where is my banky?

Not much new to report. We went to Texas last weekend for my brother’s wedding. Nice work Paul! That was probably the last time we’ll be at an airport other than to pick someone up. That’s cool, flying sucks anyways.

Tobie has grown a little since the last picture. Here is the latest as seen by Kim Rainer.

That’s right baby. The seed will live on in infamy. Baby B is a boy. You can see from the picture he has the right stuff (well its much clearer on the actual picture, my scanner sucks). This works out great since we have 2 girl names and 1 boy name already in mind. We weren’t sure what we would do if we had more than one boy. This is also good because we met with another triplet family over the weekend who had 2 girls and 1 boy and they said having 1 boy was more than enough. Sweet. Oh yeah, the other 2 are girls, whatever.

The babies are now 4 inches long. You can see their spines and rib cages. One of them looks like they have long legs. I hope the WNBA is still around when she is old enough.
