As of 12 minute ago, the babies are now 1 month old. Lets give a round of applause for those little babies. Who would have thunk that celebrating a 1 month old birthday would be such a milestone. The babies are still yo-yo-ing with their sats. Up and down, up and down. It’s just a reminder that they are still sick babies that need lots of care and love.

Another 24 weeker was placed in the same pod as our babies. Tobie was there as the doctor talked to the mother about how scary the first week of life is for her baby. Pretty surreal to watch. Tobie tried to comfort her a little. I’m sure we will see more of her once she recovers from the birth and is able to spend more time in the NICU. Being a part of the 24 weeker club is a membership nobody wants, trust me!

The babies are now above 2 pounds again. Cole (CK) did drop some weight again, but you should have seen what came out of his ass. He actually shot poop outside of the isolet. You should see how many blankets and clothes we have to bring home to wash because the babies love to poop and pee when their diapers are open. Paige is supposed to be finished with her antibiotics so her IV should come out today. CK will be done with his antibiotics sometime this week.

The past couple of days have been pretty rough for CK . He really doesn’t like his big tube going down his throat and has become very agitated since they upgraded his tube to a 3.5. The nurse said it was equivalent to us having a garden hose down our throats (ouch!). I guess who could blame CK for being pissed! They started giving him drugs again to help alleviate his discomfort. I’ve always said I would rather have a baby addicted to drugs than a baby who couldn’t breathe on his own! The plan now with CK is to let him be for 2 weeks before trying to upgrade to a CPAP. Paige on the other hand has been doing better on the vent and may get her shot at CPAP within a week. Both babies are scheduled for their 1 month head scan on Monday.
