The babies are progressing fine on the roids. We were misinformed about the length of treatment (re: Tobie misheard). Both babies will be on the roids for at least 5 days. Cole will probably go much longer because of his lung disease. They should be extubating Paige tomorrow. Paige is now 2 pounds 10 ounces. Holy cow! Seriously, she is a cow now! Since she isn’t fighting that infection anymore, she isn’t using as many calories to breathe. Cole on the other hand has lost some weight again. He’s got a pretty bad air leak which is causing him to work harder to breathe. We can’t wait to get him off of the vent so he can just eat and grow!

We were watching the news about the weather back east. I’m not going to comment on how cold it is there but comment on the fact I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt all weekend. You guys are more than welcome to come west and visit anytime you want!

UPDATE: Just got a call from Dr. Leonard. Apparently Cole displayed some ‘roid rage’ and pulled both his breathing tube and feeding tube out of his mouth. They were going to try him on CPAP since he extubated himself, but he kind of threw up so they just retubed the little bugger. In the past week the babies have become so much more self aware. They know those tubes do not belong there.
