No Soup For You!

Nothing beats starting the morning off with a phone call from the NICU. I think we are developing ESP because we can always tell who is calling before looking at the caller ID on the phone. Scary I know! Anyways CK’s nurse, was calling to let us know CK was put back on CPAP. What? Are you serious? I thought we weren’t going to try for another week. I guess he was just kicking too much ass on the conventional vent, so they put him back on CPAP. This time they increased the velocity of the CPAP. Guess what? He’s doing pretty darn good right now with it. The nurse wouldn’t let anyone near him, including Tobie. She didn’t want him to get excited at all (he actually does get excited when he can sense Tobie is near). They had him on 100% O2 for a while and eventually weaned him to 50%. As of 7 pm tonight he is doing super. If we can make it past this day with him on CPAP I expect good things from him. Last time we had him on CPAP (just 2 days ago if you can believe it), he did fine during the day and ended up crashing through the night. Fingers crossed.

Paige is doing good too. She had a nice 2 hour hold with Tobie today. Tobie even brought home the spit up from her on her chest. She also knows Tobie’s voice. Tobie and the nurse were on both sides of her bed and Paige kept trying to turn her head towards Tobie’s voice. So cute!

Tobie, are you trying to keep little mementos from the NICU like spitup? There’s lots of other non-digestive-tract type items that work just as well. But if putting spitup in the the baby book floats yer boat…

When do you guys do eye exams?
