Babies Sleeping Now that the majority of our posts are good news and there is talk of the babies coming home, we have started to receive a lot of questions about doing a baby shower. We’ve talked it over and we aren’t going have one. When Tobie first got pregnant, she was obviously excited, but even more excited for a baby shower (she lives for showers! and bathes). Now after everything we have been through we feel it would be too emotional (so sad!). So that being said, if you do want to do something for us, feel free to get us stuff on the baby registry. Your gift will be received with much love.

I finally broke down and helped Tobie start getting the baby room put together yesterday. I was able to put one crib together, the other one is missing one key part, that without it, no crib! I’m hoping it will turn up, but I have a feeling it won’t. By the way, any crib that you have to put together with tools should not be purchased. What a pain. I am so not looking forward to the holidays where it will be daddy’s responsibility to put together the toys.

I decided to jump start the baby room by going to Target and buying everything on the list that was in store (I didn’t want Tobie to feel too panicked that we hadn’t done anything). You know what? About 90% of the items on the list are online only (I guess that is a good thing because I could have ended up spending a small fortune). What’s up with that? What would people do before the Internet if they wanted these items? And the best part of going to Target was after I purchased all the times (about 30 small trinkets), at the register the cashier had to go through the list item by item and scan the bar code so the registry could be updated. The people behind me in line were pissed. What a lame system.

Also I think we were a little over zealous in the time estimate we are expecting Paige to come home. I would say the babies have at least another month in the hospital. I’m just hoping they don’t split the babies up and move Paige to the Thomas campus. Hopefully Cole will keep up his improvement and the babies can be moved together to the Thomas campus.

I am so glad to keep reading about the good things happening with your babies. Now to jsut get the eyes done with…

When you mentioned Paige coming home in about 2 weeks I was so surprised but overjoyed that it would be that soon. Sorry to hear that was just a hope. I am pretty sure that if Paige goes to Thomas then Cole will too. They also have a level III NICU there so if he needs more care than Paige it will happen. If anything, she may be in a private room while he is in the “pinwheel” area unitl he is OK to be with his sister.

Please don’t tell me I need to point out that one of the 1,425,892 uses for duct tape is “replace missing peices”. 2 kids, hospital bills up to Saskatchewa & back, we need to think on a budget here.

Duct tape. Worth it’s stickiness in gold.

How amazing is this family? I mean, I love the BLOG - I just feel so connected (probably TOO much!!) I may have OCD - seems I refresh this page way too often. But…it seems pictures from past posts change from time to time so there’s often something new to look at!
