Is there such a thing as the Kaufman curse?

Good news..Bad news: So Cole was weighed again today. He was an ounce heavier. I know what you are saying, weigh to go Cole (get it, weigh?). You also must be asking yourself, why was Cole weighed again so soon since you had just seen the doctor yesterday. Well the bad news is we had to take Cole to the doctor again because he is sick. That’s right we have kept Cole is basic quarantine since he was born, only going out when we needed to see a doctor, not allowing the majority of people in our lives over to the house and he still gets an infection. Ugh. So okay, I guess there wasn’t any real good news.

I have to say we have been through a lot, but seeing our little boy in pain is absolutely brutal. Oye, the looks he gives us. Sorry buddy, there just isn’t anything we can do. The doctor said he looks like he is in extreme pain. He is showing all the classic signs, biting his hands, crying, and hyperventilating. He hasn’t stopped crying all day and now it’s just a whimper as his throat must be worked over. He won’t fall asleep either because he is so uncomfortable. Not even standing cheers our little Cole up (that was the first sign something was off). The feeling of absolute helplessness plagues both Tobie and I.

Well on the bright side, we were able to tell something wasn’t just right with Cole relatively quickly. We’ve now seen all the doctors at our peed medical practice. He’s on the right anti-biotics (with some baby Motrin for good measure) and hopefully this infection will be gone within 24-48 hours. What about Paige you ask? Well she might be sick, I don’t know. She’s definitely been a little grumpy today, but what baby isn’t? We’ll keep a keen eye on her.

I am crossing my fingers and saying my prayers that Cole will beat this quickly, and Paige won’t get sick. Keep your chins up. You are the best parents to those little miracles!
