Paige had another eye appointment today. This one was with a new eye doctor. He confirmed a lot of the suspicions we have had about Miss Paige. He said Paige has 20 / 800 vision. She is very, and I mean very near sighted. She can probably only see objects from about 6 inches away. This has definitely affected her development. We are going to follow up with this doctor in 2 months. Since we are now working with the Foundation For The Blind, we feel pretty comfortable in not seeing the doctor for a while. Paige was also fitted for glasses today. That’s right our little girl is going to be wearing glasses by the end of the week. We will also be doing some patching to help strengthen the eyes. We were also told that Paige should start to blossom when she starts wearing the glasses. Knock on wood, we can’t wait!

I am glad to hear that you have found out more about PAige’s eyesight. SHe sounds really close to Zoe’s eyesight. Is she like that in both eyes or is one worse than the other? I can’t wait to see Paige in her glasses. May I ask where you got them? We got Zoe’s glasses at a place called See Saw optical on Shea and 40th st ( I think that is correct). They have glasses small enough to fit preemies. They even have completely plastic ones that are virtually indestructable.

I bet Paige is gonna look ADORABLE in her new glasses. Can’t wait to see the pics.
Holland is going to need glasses too, as she is also nearsighted. So far she is doing okay, and seeing equally well in both eyes, but she’ll probably get glasses before she is 3.
Maybe it is easier to keep them in glasses as babies??? I know as a toddler we are going to have a heck of a time getting Holland to wear hers! Paige will be totally used to them before the terrible twos hit:)
Well, guess now she can’t wear these: http://oakley.com/catalog/colors/eyewear/omatter/overthetop/fmj_5.56_ice_iridium/ Welcome to my pain, sister.
We’re going to the eye doc today. How did they do the test that determined the 20/800?
So far Zoe’s prescription has been changed once in 3 months. Luckily See Saw will not charge you a prescription change if the prescription is less than 6 months old ( I think)!! No kidding about the price!!!! We are going to get a plastic pair for her too so she doesn’t ruin the ones she already has.
She will be the cutest baby with glasses! We are crossing our fingers that she will indeed “blossom” when she can finally see well with her glasses. We are thinking of you,and as always rooting for you all!
