| We used state of the art computer graphics to render an image of what Paige will look like with glasses |
Tobie here: So it’s been a while since I’ve been a little frustrated. Okay…maybe not that long….but I’m trying! So no, we don’t have Paige’s eyeglasses. I ordered them on Monday. Paige and I went after her eye appt to pick out frames at the only store in the Valley that carries baby frames. We only had about 5 frames to choose from. About five minutes after we get home, the lady working at the store calls and says that she has another pair of frames that she forgot about. Why she couldn’t have shown us all the available frames when we went the first time is beyond me, but that’s life. So the next morning we load up and head back out this time taking Cole with us (which makes it a little more complicated) because unlike the previous day I have no one to stay back with Cole. The lady sees both babies and says “Oh my gosh…I didn’t know you had two!” I wouldn’t have had you come back”. Oh but you did, but in the end it was all good because the frames she didn’t show us the first time, were the ones we ended up picking out. All along this woman is telling us the glasses will be ready Friday and I spend the entire week pumping Paige up for them. She was a little worried about her looks, but I assured her she was the most gorgeous baby girl with or without fashionable eye wear. Friday afternoon rolls around…I call the woman to see if they are indeed ready before heading down to their shop. She says the FedEx box had arrived but she hadn’t gone through it. She was with clients, but promised me she would call back right away as I had explained to her we had another appt later in the day (Cole’s play therapy) and time was pressing. Well she never called back. I decided to pack up the babies and go there anyways. I walk into an empty office. Where are the clients? Where is my return phone call? Where are Paige’s glasses? All futile questions as the glasses aren’t in. Supposedly now Monday, possibly Tuesday. I thought it was a standard operating procedure to inflate the time it takes something to get done, that way you are always pleasantly surprised when it comes early. It’s just a little frustrating because now that we know she needs glasses to see, we want her in them ASAP. All in all my hopes and excitement for Paige’s sight are just postponed for a few days. Ahh, I feel better now, how about you?

That sucks! It’s so hard to find experienced, non-screaming help these days. Well the community of BLOG-readers will wait with baited breath!
I’ve been checking your blog all weekend just to see fashionable Paige!! I should have known something was up when there weren’t pictures posted right away. You guys are such good updaters. Good luck with the screaming lady.

Argh! How frustrating for you!
Hopefully they will come in and it will be a smoothe transaction getting them etc.
Geesh…..gotta let me know where this is so I don’t go there for Hayden……

With your amazing computer graphics, Paige looks like Harry Potter with a mohawk. Cool!
Tobie,
I am so sorry you had such a bad experience with See Saw. I have only had good things to say about them. I forget the name of the person I have always dealt with. She is a bit loud ( wouldn’t say screamer) but has never been rude or forgetful with me. This is the only place to get glasses small enough for our 24 weekers or anyone that small. I hopeyou get them this week some time.

Tell me you ordered some 50’s cat’s eye be-rhinestoned glasses? Please? Please?
I just came cross your blog and have to say that first of all I have a little one (6mos.) that required glasses. I went to the same place for Abby’s glasses and must say the experience was very “eye opening”. The “lady” was Linda, and she was wonderful. Both with Abby and the nervous mother (me). Linda took extra time & care with getting the right size for Abby and also explained to me how the glasses would change things for the both of us. I didn’t find her to be loud at all. She also explained that the glasses had to be made, I think she said “ground”? whatever that means?? so they had to be sent to a lab. I was told 4-5 days and when I didn’t get a call I too called to find out if they were ready. They were not but Linda called the “lab” (?) to check on them and said they would be in the next day but told me to wait for her call as she wanted to check them to make sure they were made correctlly. when we picked them up I too cried as the response from Abby was a true smile at me! She just looks at me , really looks at me since the glasses! I also purchased a 2nd pair for Abby as I NEVER want her to not have her glasses! Sorry no picture, camera broken! She looks devine, no rhinestones tho… I would recommend See Saw to ANYONE with small ones as they really know wwhat they are doing.
I’m sorry you had such a trying experience purchasing your daughter’s eye glasses.
I can’t believe that conniving loud girl hid the one pair of frames from you that you would have chosen if you’d seen them. Then just so she could inconvenience you she had the nerve to call and tell you about them forcing you to go back to her office to see them.
The audicity of that girl being busy when you called her to see if the glasses were ready and then not calling you back in what you thought was a timely manner. I know I “never” get distracted at work and fail to return a call.
If that wasn’t bad enough she coerced the lab to run behind schedule just so your daughter’s glasses wouldn’t be done on time causing you more distress. Unbelievable!
I’m sorry your life has not been easy the past year but don’t take it out on other people at least not in a public forum.
