Update

eric   September 16th, 2006

So the peed this week said both babies looked great. While Cole isn’t gaining a ton of weight, he is still gaining. So as long as he keep that up, talks of G-tubes are now the dreams of days gone by. When looking at the growth charts, he said Paige has a big head. I’m sure that’s a compliment. Yeah, so Paige is still climbing the growth charts for her chronological age. She’s in the 50th percentile (90th percentile for adjusted age). Cole is barely hanging on the adjusted growth chart at around the 20th percentile. But he’s getting bigger everyday, so whatever.

We are also able to start the babies on stage 2 baby food. That’s good because Cole can start having meats and other foods that have higher calories. While I avoid high calorie foods, I push them on my son. See I’m a calorie pusher. “Psst, hey kid. You ever have some high calories before? The first one is free!

Cole is an absolute charmer. He smiles and now laughs all the time. We can get him to do a big laugh from his belly if we tickle him just right. He is rolling over to his belly and back again all the time. Paige is just on the verge of being able to roll over. Nights have become a game. We lay the babies one way and when we get up to feed them, they have been magically transported to the other side of the bed. It almost looks like Cole is doing 360s running on his side.

Both babies drool factor has increased 10 fold. I’m not sure when it happened, but if you get too close to them, it’s like getting slimed Ghostbusters style. Also I learned that being a Star Trek fan is genetic and not learned behavior as both babies have developed Vulcan death grips. You definitely don’t want their hands near your ears or lips if you want to keep those body parts.

So we have been patching Paige’s eye the past week. She freaks out when we patch her good eye. I’m not sure what vision she has with her right eye. You can tell something isn’t clicking because she is very upset and her eye is all over the map. We had someone over with the Foundation for the Blind (FBC). She said Paige was legally blind, even with glasses. Super. She said not to worry about that label as it doesn’t mean a whole lot right now. Even our peed said the same thing. So it’s a wait and see approach with her. We do have another eye appointment next month. We are going to see about pushing it up. Maybe Paige’s prescription isn’t strong enough as the FBC gal said she is still about 20/360 with glasses.

We have also had all our therapies in gear for the past few weeks. I think there is definite improvement in the babies., especially Cole.

There was more I wanted to blog about, but can’t remember. Oh well, you should have been here, your loss.

Not fair! We’re 2043 miles away!

I gotta say, it’s funny. Read my blog, and you’ll see almost exactly the same things about drool, death grips, and the cusps of rolling over.

What is the purpose of patching?

And about not remembering? You need neural bluetooth uplinks to the PC, and Blogger. I just know they have to exist in this day & age, so there’s absolutely no excuse to not remember things.
