I posted another new video: Have A Nice Day.
Related Posts:So the peed this week said both babies looked great. While Cole isn’t gaining a ton of weight, he is still gaining. So as long as he keep that up, talks of G-tubes are now the dreams of days gone by. When looking at the growth charts, he said Paige has a big head. I’m sure that’s a compliment. Yeah, so Paige is still climbing the growth charts for her chronological age. She’s in the 50th percentile (90th percentile for adjusted age). Cole is barely hanging on the adjusted growth chart at around the 20th percentile. But he’s getting bigger everyday, so whatever.
We are also able to start the babies on stage 2 baby food. That’s good because Cole can start having meats and other foods that have higher calories. While I avoid high calorie foods, I push them on my son. See I’m a calorie pusher. “Psst, hey kid. You ever have some high calories before? The first one is free!“
Cole is an absolute charmer. He smiles and now laughs all the time. We can get him to do a big laugh from his belly if we tickle him just right. He is rolling over to his belly and back again all the time. Paige is just on the verge of being able to roll over. Nights have become a game. We lay the babies one way and when we get up to feed them, they have been magically transported to the other side of the bed. It almost looks like Cole is doing 360s running on his side.
Both babies drool factor has increased 10 fold. I’m not sure when it happened, but if you get too close to them, it’s like getting slimed Ghostbusters style. Also I learned that being a Star Trek fan is genetic and not learned behavior as both babies have developed Vulcan death grips. You definitely don’t want their hands near your ears or lips if you want to keep those body parts.
So we have been patching Paige’s eye the past week. She freaks out when we patch her good eye. I’m not sure what vision she has with her right eye. You can tell something isn’t clicking because she is very upset and her eye is all over the map. We had someone over with the Foundation for the Blind (FBC). She said Paige was legally blind, even with glasses. Super. She said not to worry about that label as it doesn’t mean a whole lot right now. Even our peed said the same thing. So it’s a wait and see approach with her. We do have another eye appointment next month. We are going to see about pushing it up. Maybe Paige’s prescription isn’t strong enough as the FBC gal said she is still about 20/360 with glasses.
We have also had all our therapies in gear for the past few weeks. I think there is definite improvement in the babies., especially Cole.
There was more I wanted to blog about, but can’t remember. Oh well, you should have been here, your loss.

What is on the TV behind Paige? This is a rare picture of Paige smiling. I don’t know why, but it’s so hard to get it on film.
Doesn’t it look like Cole is flying above Paige?
Wildcats Rule! (everything but football)
If you are bad in our house, you get sent to baby jail.
I’ll give you once guess what Paige will be for Halloween! Arrrr!
He loves baby food and baby food loves him. If he would ever stop smiling, we might actually get some in his mouth!
Paige: 15 pounds 12 ounces.
Cole: 13 pounds 8 ounces.

Both babies are doing great. Paige feels like she weighs like a sack of bricks. I have no idea what she weighs. Both babies have another peed appointment Wednesday so we will get the official weight checks then.
Today was cry central. The babies are now asleep and I think I can still hear them crying in my head. Isn’t that sad? Paige has developed what I like to call the hot coffee cry. She wakes up numerous times a day crying like some just poured hot coffee in her lap. It’s the damnest cry you’ve ever heard. Paige has been doing pretty good with her glasses. She did great her first week then started to rip them off a lot the past week. Since her glasses hook around her ears, when she pulls them off, she almost rips her ears off. As you can imagine, she isn’t a happy camper when she is tugging on her glasses. She doesn’t realize it’s her causing the pain. But for the most part she is able to wear her glasses most of the day. We started patching today. I’ll post some pirate pictures later of her.
Cole has been crying/talking most of the days. So unless he is sleeping, there is no quiet time. He’s able to track objects from pretty far away. He can see me walking into the room and give me a big ol‘ smile, which is pretty cool. A few people asked about him not being able to stand. Cole has a problem with extension. He is likes to lock his whole body, which isn’t the greatest position to be in developmentally. So we’ve been working with PT to get him to relax and curl into a nice ball which is more baby normal. Cole has been ripping off his O2 a bunch. We’ve kept him off the juice for a few hours here and there because he is ripping it off so frequently He’s satting around 95 without O2, which is great. However, he can’t keep it up for long durations and his saturations definitely lower when he is sleeping. So there is basically an end in sight to him being off O2. All he wants for Christmas is his two front teeth to be off O2.

Why is Cole checking out his sister?

You can really see the size difference between the babies in this pic. Look at their mid-sections and thighs.

Tobie here: Okay…this is going to seem like a ridiculously silly post….but my knees are killing me!!! When I give the babies a bath, we have a small plastic tub they lay in that goes in our regular tub. So I have to kneel beside our tub to give them a bath. Between the kneeling and the lifting them into and out of the tub on my knees (Paige has to be over 16 lbs by now) my knees are throbbing. I tried putting a pillow under my knees…doesn’t seem to help. I’ve heard of people giving baths in the kitchen sink which would never work since our sink is never that clean. What do other people do? I can’t sit and lift them in and out of the tub because I wouldn’t get the leverage to do it. I can’t put their plastic tub on the regular floor because it would be a big mess when they displace the water. Doesn’t this seem silly? If anyone has any suggestions, that’d be great.
Thanks.
