Hi, so what’s up? Okay, I won’t do that to you again. So, pretty exciting news, isn’t it? Remember #12 on this post? While I thought I was joking about being pregnant, turns out I’m psychic (stop by the house if you want to know your future). Tobie accuses me of doing anything to keep the blog going. Just to clarify, there is only one in there
So the other week I was sleeping in the guest room to hide from all things baby. I awoke around 6ish in the morning and stumble into our bedroom. Tobie was lying in bed with the babies. You have to know in advance, I’m not a morning person and these babies make me realize that every single day (I’m getting better, I swear). Tobie asks me if I saw her present. I kind of shrug her off and just start doing my normal morning duties. I finally head back out of the room and low and behold I walked right over a pregnancy test (twice mind you). Holy S#i@! I run back to our bedroom speechless. Tobie is laughing. I start to laugh. The following banter then ensues:
E: For real?
T: Yep, for real.
E: Words can’t describe how I felt at that moment. Is it mine?
Again, laughter.
E: When did we find time to do it?
T: Oh you found time!
E: For real?
And the conversation carried on like that for about 10 minutes. So looking back, Tobie and I tried for 3 years to get pregnant the first time around. 1095 hours. 26280 minutes. Apparently our doctors weren’t full of crap when they said the body has a way of resetting itself after a pregnancy. Damn doctors, they are always right! Maybe the stars just need to be aligned for us? After all we conceived during the same 2 weeks of August for both pregnancies. Maybe in all these years of trying, we had always just took August off? As curious as I am to see if there is a correlation, I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be taking a month long trip by myself next August.
So where do we stand now? Well we are back at the same perinatal clinic as before. Lovely Dr. F is going to be taking care of us again. She thinks we will have a nice normal pregnancy, but to be safe we are going to start seeing her every 1-2 weeks. We think the reason she went into PTL last time was because we were carrying the trips. Yeah we were kind of scared when we found out we were preggers again because it is so soon after the first. Today was our first appointment with the doctor. We feel much better now. For a little bit, we had convinced ourselves there were going to be more than one in there.
We’ve told the babies about “the one that shall not be named”. I think they are cool with it. They drooled when we told them and that usually means they are happy. So, does anyone have an extra crib we could have?
I guess we didn’t plan this too well and we are going to have lots of overlap between the babies.
Also, in other news, Tobie gave notice at work. Unfortunately it happened to coincide with Tobie being sick. No “being sick” isn’t code for she’s pregnant. Yes she was really sick and it was compounded with first trimester fun. Last year Tobie was sick around the same time for about 3 weeks. Remember that? Anyways, we had talked with the doctor previously and she recommended Tobie taking it as easy as possible. Unfortunately work puts a lot of stress on Tobie as she can never full recuperate from working 3 nights a week.
Cole decided to rip off his O2 this evening before bedtime. I guess it’s time to start the overnight study. The kid is good! Wish us luck. So far he is satting 95. Brillant!
Lastly, you readers are so smart. Guess who has a tooth cutting through? That’s right, we found the source of Paige’s hot coffee cries. Who’s better than you? ![]()

Hey, that is some great news! Congratulations to you both.
Cheryl
My jaw is on the floor! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I’m a first time poster but a long time reader. I found you guys through Triplet Connection and have 15 mos old triplets. Thank you for sharing your family with so many people who have laughed and cried with your joys and sorrows. You are indeed blessed and “The One that shall not be named” is very lucky to be joining your family. Congrats!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am also glad that Tobie will be able to take it easy and not worry about work this time. I will be looking forward to hearing more about “the one that shal not be named.”

I hope your overnight study goes great. Once he is off you guys could get the angel care monitor. It has really been a super comfort for me with Caitlin. I don’t think I could have slept without it.
Congrats again. I am so excited for you guys!!!!

Ah the screaming… I just endured a weekend of fever, drool and screaming which has resulted in a tooth. I’m not quite certain why Im still awake at half past midnight when I’ve had next to zero sleep this past weekend with Presleigh screeching, however, its actually quiet and peaceful I’m actually getting some reading done! Congrats again on baby!
Congratulations to you all!! I wish you a safe and healthy pregnancy!
“…the body has a way of resetting itself after a pregnancy.”
I’ve heard mythical tales about this. Is the legend true? I’m so jealous.
Excelllent. Now, when Paige and Cole razz my not-yet-named kiddo, my not-yet-named kiddo will be able to razz your kiddo-that-shall-not-be-named. Of course, Lane will be razzing the lot of ‘em.
Congratulations!! My son, Matthew, ripped his off constantly. Everytime I would go in his room I would find it around his neck, on the bridge of his nose, anywhere but in his nose! We just got the results of his sleep study back and we are done with it (although won’t let it leave the house for a long time!) I hope you get great results!
Congrats on the pregnancy too! I hope this time around things go much easier for you guys. Take care! Just peeking in on your page.
Must be in the air..it also took us 3 years to get pregnant and then after the odds were so against us, we have 1 year old triplets….and in AUGUST we got pregnant, I too had horrible M/S and I think our babies will be the same age when the new one is born…crazy isn’t it, we didn’t believe it either, but are so happy.
CONGRATS!!!
Jennifer
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I found you on the TC, and wanted to say our family in NY is thrilled for all of you.
Happy & Healthy 9 months.
Carolyn
Good Gracious!! How blessed are you?
I was relieved to see that you are in fact having just one bouncing baby! I was shocked enough to be pregnant again, but to see 2 little flickers of heartbeat on that screen??? Yikes!! Congrats to all!!
Congrats on the babe (and the tooth)!
Tobie and Eric-Pam here from Triplet Connection, I am addicted to your blog and am so happy to see the babies doing so well! And now another?? Try not to think ahead of how hard it “might” be, why worry over something that is such a good thing?! Congratulations to you all, and here’s hoping to a healthy 40 week pregnancy! P.S.-stop by TC sometime, I am sure they’d all LOVE to hear your good news!
Again - what’s with my disappearing comments?!
Another thought…
So are you going to keep the blog name as is? Are you going to update that cartoon of yours anytime soon?
You’ve got time… right?!
I’m not sure why your comments disappear Pam. Just another reason for me to stop using blogger!
I had already had plans for a new website as I feel the gottriplets.com website doesn’t fit us as a family anymore.
I’ll get around to it……………when I’ve got time.
OK, I’m really behind….OMG!! congratulations!!!! I’m so happy for you guys (and jealous too!) I guess there’s hope for me too!!! Wow, Yippee. glad to be going to bed on a high note! I’ll dream of babies!
