I’m A Halloweenie

eric   October 31st, 2006

I’m typing this blog post outside while handing out candy to all the neighborhood kids. I can’t believe next year at this time we’ll be taking the kids door to door trick or treating.

So are you ready for the cutest Halloween pictures ever? Yeah me too. Apparently our house has swallowed our camera. I know, what are the odds? When it’s found we’ll post some pictures.

We had our 6 month NICU follow up today. The babies fared pretty well. So get this, Paige has a 75% weight to height ratio. Ideally you want that ratio around 50%. Yeah, she gives new meaning to the term chunky monkey. We are going to start incorporating more baby food into her diet immediately and reduce her calories. Paige is just a few ounces shy of 19 pounds. You heard me right, 19 pounds!! However, I do think the scales at the clinic are on the high side as Cole weighed in at 14 pounds 14 ounces. If that’s right he’s gained almost 12 ounces since last week which seems a little fishy. Every scale is different.

All in all the doctor thought both babies are doing really well. They are ahead of the curve in some areas and behind in others. She gave us lots of homework to start doing with the babies. Between all our therapies and work with the babies I’m sure they will be only ahead of the curve one day. Wishful thinking never hurt anyone! :)

Oh so we received a couple comments today about the babies. The first one comes in the elevator when an older woman asked if they were twins. We said yes. She paused a few seconds and then followed up her question with the comment, “But he’s so much smaller than her”. Thanks lady! The next one came when a gentlemen asked if we had two boys. Viscouse, please feel some vindication as you are not alone in the world!

Happy Halloween!

Cole: “Muhahahaha…Daddy will never find his camera!”

How funny! All those months of wanting them to gain weight, and now you have to reduce Paige’s calories! You were right, she is giving Cooper a run for his money in the weight department, maybe she has him beat! Don’t worry, Paige looks like a little lady to me.

      19…it’s…so fast…pounds? Really? That’s fantastic!

Cole is really turning into an evil genius, between this & the last Mwahahaha pic. Yep, he’d get along great with Lessa. Now I’m thinking they should be kept apart just sos they don’t form some unholy alliance & take over the world.

As for vindication, all I can say is, God bless people. They try so very very hard.

People are funny. You never know what comments will be made at any moment. Our son has a big head, but skinny body. He finally made it to 3 percent on the weight chart. The funny thing is how so many people say how big he is. He is over two years old and still wearing some of his 12 month pants. Oh, well.

      Your twins are sooooooo adorable.

I can’t tell you how many times our camera is missing. Of course, my husband was always the last one to use it. Hope it appears soon.

Why does Paige look so innocent and Cole has that devilish grin? Are they mirroring their parents? See you soon, L, D

Today at the doc’s office… “Aww, how old is he?” meanwhile we’re wearing a pink toque, pink mittens, pink boots and snowsuit unzipped to show we’re wearing a pink shirt.. granted the snowsuit is blue, but it has PINK penquins on it…
And I think we must have had the same server at Boston Pizza as anon. above had at the Olive Garden.. we’re 9 months old and in an infant carrier and you want to give us a kids menu?????

You could have your child in pink from head to toe and people still think they are boys! When people would say “2 girls and a boy?” I would reply “which one is the boy…the one with the pink ruffles, the big pink hair bow or the pink flowers on her shirt?” Then they look at YOU like you’re rude and obnoxious for having a smart answer, guess they overlooked the fact that their comment was stupid! My girls are 3 now and people still think one of them is a boy…come to think of it she does kind of act like a boy, oh well that’s a whole other story!

Just glad to hear Cole and Paige are doing so well!
