Apparently November is Prematurity Awareness month. When did this happen? I’m a card carrying member and I wasn’t notified. I know I’ve missed a few meetings and all, but a letter or an email would have sufficed! Also, November 14th was Prematurity Awareness Day. Was I supposed to take the day off for this? Is it a banking holiday? I guess it doesn’t get the same national exposure as say Administrative Professional ’s Day or International Friendship Day.
Related Posts: And speaking of Prematurity Awareness month, why is it just one month? Many premature births happen 2-4 months ahead of schedule. Why can’t we get say 2 months to promote prematurity awareness? I think someone dropped the ball here.
Prematurity does suck, go donate some money and help us fight the good fight. Do it, do it now!

I was wondering about this too…
How come we weren’t informed? How come we’re not on some mailing list (since we’re already on so many others) that dropped us a postcard to let us know of this occasion?!
I actually called the March of Dimes myself, after the birth of our triplest, and asked if there was any thing they could do in terms of support. My answer - nothing. There’s some pilot program in 1 NICU in another part of the state, and I know that their research has tremendously impacted the children in an indirect manner… but directly, I got nodda.
P.S. I hovered over your picture to see who you posted, and it brought a sad smile to my face.
