Happy New Year!

Tobie here: Happy New Year everyone!! Here’s to a much healthier, happier 2007!! Last year is behind us (thank god) and I’m very hopeful that this coming year will bring only tears of joy, not sadness.

So we’re going into 2007 in a pretty good way. We’re off oxygen, Paige is completely off meds, Cole is right behind her. The only meds he’s on are supportive meds which we will be off after flu season in May. We will be out of isolation in May (except when new baby arrives, then we’ll have our mandatory 6-week isolation for his sake). So let’s say we’ll be out of isolation in July because I’m so confident that new baby will arrive as scheduled. We’re over 22 weeks pregnant and holding strong. Paige is weighing in over 20 lbs as of last Friday, Cole is over 16 lbs, and Mom and Dad are afraid to step on the scale. Some of us are crawling and trying desperately to walk, others are content to let others do the movement for them. Do you see who’s going to be the next CEO of a major corporation?

So here’s a random story: Last night I was up 3 times to feed Cole. He refused to eat the first two times and I was getting discouraged. But at 5 am when he and Paige decided to get up, I was able to squeek a couple ounces in him. Then I put him back in his crib and went to go get dressed. I have to walk by my nice cozy bed to get to the closet so I let temptation talk me into laying down “just for a second”. I then listened to the babies talk and shout for me for about five minutes. I tried to get up but my body wouldn’t let me. But then a miraculous thing happened….the babies fell back asleep for two hours!!! What??!! Would this happen every morning? No more 5 am reporting for duty?? Or was this just my New Year’s Day present from them? Similar to my Christmas morning present when then slept in past 7 am? How do they know when Holidays occur?? Smartest babies ever…………

Tobie
