15 Month Checkup

eric   April 19th, 2007

The babies had their 15 month checkup today. Apparently we had missed a shot, so the babies ended up getting 4 shots each today. Okay everyone at once: OUCH! My how our little pin cushions have grown. The good news is, except for their RSV shots next year, they will not need anymore shots until they are 4 years old. We tried to explain that to them, but I don’t think they cared. All in all the peed was happy with their development.

Both babies seem to be traveling the same growth curves since being released from the NICU last May. Paige, like always appears to be a superstar (on paper). She still clocks in the 50th percentile for weight and height for her chronological age. If you looked at her adjusted age on the charts, she would be in the 90th percentile. She’s just about 23 pounds and 30 inches in length now. While Cole’s numbers aren’t as stellar, he’s still on that same growth line, so that’s positive, right? He’s around the 5th percentile on the adjusted chart. He weighs 18 pounds 10 ounces and is around 29 inches in length (we think that measurement is a little generous, we tried to get his length about 3 times, but he wouldn’t lie still).

We see the peed in another 3 months. That’s all for now.

Poor babies! We have 18 months shots……….what’s up with that???

Cole’s weight gain looks great! Keep up the good work.

Wow - it’s obvious that doctors are definitely using different growth curves. If Ivy’s only 19 3/4 lbs and supposedly at the 10% percentile for 15 months, there’s no way that Paige would only chart 5% at our doc’s office! (Lessa’s adjusted is the same percentage as Coles - the 5%, but she’s only weighing 17 1/4 lbs.)

And our girls have more shots in 6 months. :( But we do have another checkup in 3 months like you.

Sounds like things went well, though? No huge concerns?
And did your doc recommend tylenol for the next 24 hrs (for the pain from the shots)?

Hey you took my “hello” to baby Drew and put it as the title. Well atleast I know that I have good ideas. I have to say that The One That Is Now Named Drew, is a much better title than the thats my baby boy one you had before. =)

Go Cole & Paige! Sorry, I got a little remiscient when both of us use to have these huge laundry lists of things/data to report back after the Peed visits. now it’s just “doing fine, still growing”. It just took me back.

Doesn’t need to be said, but anyway…I’m glad we’re all in this spot now where we can look back at all the scary doctor’s visits from so long ago. I’m glad to see Cole & Paige doing so well. And you guys too. And TOTiNND.
