We take tummy time seriously!!
Who would have thought he would love flowers so much?
I can’t believe it’s been 5 months already? Can you? Seems like Drew has been here forever! I have to tell you, he’s awesome. Tobie and I feel like first time parents with the big guy. We love our children, but last year, we felt less like parents and more like parts of their medical team. Last year we spent every hour of every day worrying about every little thing with P & C. Seriously, do you know what kind of stress having preemies puts on the parents? Do you think I had flecks of grey hair before last year? Do you think I was 20 pounds overweight before last year? Oh wait, I was, but that’s not why I’m writing this blog entry, it’s about Drew.
Let’s get the bad out of the way first, he is lousy at sleeping. It’s taking us over an hour to get him to go down most nights. Some days he takes a few naps and then there are days like today where he refuses. He can be sound asleep and as soon as he hits his mattress, it’s cry time baby! So the good, well everything is good with him sans sleep. Feeding him is an absolute dream. You’ve seen the pictures, obviously he likes to eat We’ve been feeding him baby food for about a month. He opens his mouth, eats it, and smiles. P & C really don’t do that to this day! Feeding P & C last year was so difficult. I’m having flashbacks of how crazy it was to get them to open their mouths and feed. And the thing with Drew is, if you put him in the highchair, you better have some food waiting, because he ain’t going to wait for you to get it ready. He wants his rice cereal and sweet potatoes and he wants it NOW!
We occasionally look at the developmental books to see how Drew stacks up against the norm. He’s usually spot on or a little advanced with things. Even though his development is because of who he is, it’s such a good feeling for us to see him hit these milestones. Since he’s been home, I don’t think I’ve worried once about him. I can totally see why parents get all baby crazy for more than one kid. I actually think it’s hard on him to watch everything going on. I think he wants to interact more with P & C. He’ll follow them with his eyes wherever they go If we put a toy in front of Drew to watch, sure enough P or C will come over and walk away with it. Drew has had his fair share of hits to the head by flying toys. That can only make him stronger, right? Have a mentioned his smile? Oh, you’ve probably seen the pictures!

I love him. I wanna put him on a sundae and sprinkle him with nuts and a big fat cherry. Ask Drew how he’d feel about some whipped cream on his head. I’m doin’ it - Really - If I ever see him. I wanna bite!! A BIG one.
he is so adorable! I love the first pic! Ok I have been wanting to ask this for a while. Is his full name Andrew or just Drew?
It looks like he is nice and strong in addition to being big. And I second the comment about those eyes. Gorgeous!
