Everyone who has preemies can agree that obesity and micropreemies do not belong in the same sentence together. But kid you not! Cole just ate 1/2 a hamburger, one McNugget and a kazillion french fries from McDonalds. Go Mickey D’s!!! Who needs feeding therapy when there is fast food? Now I just need to worry about him having a coronary instead of being horribly underweight….

But what did mommy eat?
Good, I don’t feel so bad. Cooper had Chick-Fil-A nuggets for lunch.
If he’ll eat McD’s all day, let him! Obviously you still want to TRY to get him to eat some healthy stuff, but if he’s underweight, I say go for it!
YEAH! GO Cole!!!! WOO HOO!!!
on another note, I wanted to mention that sleep studies are really really really difficult! (for young kids that is) Sam has had 3- and I thought I would loose my mind the last time….. If you do end up needing one, be prepared- send the parent with the most patience and EXPECT not to sleep much at all, and possibly arrange for help the next day…. ( although by the sounds of it- you are used to that) There are a ton of leads and wires, and junk that they put on the kids- probably 16 or more leads for various things mostly on the head and face, but chest, and feet too….Sammy ended up having his head wrapped too so he wouldn’t pull those off, but the nasal canular was a tough one….anyways, hopefully you’ll get some repreve soon and won’t need the study, but if you do, just be prepared…..Hang in there! You guys are AWESOME!
Golden Arches here we come! Yeah Cole!
sorry #4 was me- must have forgotten to sign in…..
we took the kids for a “cultural experience” in Bulgaria (and to visit family), and my poor aunt cooked every imaginable dish she knew 9 times over, and the kids just would not eat.. Finally, we took them to McDonald’s, where they proceeded to inhale a ridiculous amount of food, as if they have never seen food before… It was quite embarrassing, but what are you going to do…
Nate is a former 24 weeker who is now 3 and a half and weighs 26 pounds! He gets McDonalds or Sonic at least once a week because he eats it sooo well! But it doesn’t seem to help on the weight gain at all! lol
Way to go Cole! I’m so glad he ate something - well!
My twins (former 30-weekers) eat fast food several times a week. One of them has had a hard time gaining weight. At 3 years old and 26 pounds, he is finally in the first percentile on the growth chart (7% for height). Needless to say, we are thrilled!!! Consistently, there has been a 2″ height difference and 5lb. weight difference since they were about four months old.
