Shop til you drop

tobie   January 31st, 2008

So Cole’s coughing again.  Great.  Paige a little bit.  Drew just cute.  I don’t want them playing outside while they are wheezing and coughing so what else to do but shop?  Well, geez I’ve bought amazing things lately.  Clothes from Target that were 90% off (I almost bought our Christmas outfits for next Christmas, but it’s hard to know how huge Drew’s going to get).  Yesterday I was at Toys R Us and I got a princess toddler bed for Paige that was the floor model so it was super cheap and already assembled.  Eric almost killed me when he found out how I got that bad boy home!  Not that she’ll sleep in it at night (especially since there’s no way Daddy can fit in there!), but it’s good for naptime.  I also got a floor model super comfy single stroller for when Paige and Cole go to preschool and Drew and I go cruising around town….50% off and in perfect condition.  Not to mention other random stuff.  Those of you who sent Christmas money here’s what you bought:

a super cool Play-Doh set complete with cookie cutters, things that make hair?, and mini-rolling pins

a couple new books (can always use new books), one of them is Thomas the Train that makes train noises when you push buttons

another Thomas the train matchbox car (Cole is going through a choo-choo phase)

new sheets that perfectly match Drew’s room decor

some other stuff I can’t remember right now.

Speaking of sleeping/napping…..Cole has been a nightmare these last three days.  I don’t think he wants to sleep in his crib anymore.  It must be hard seeing Paige not in a crib and with a lot more freedom than he has, but there is NO WAY I would consider taking him out of his crib until at least September.  But at naptime he takes everything out of his crib and chucks it over the side of his crib.  All his stuffed animals, his pillow, his three blankets.  Then he wails because his crib is empty.  Oh well!  I’m not going to refill it and make a game out it.  But he’s done it for three days now and it’s annoying.  I’m just waiting for him to jump over the side after all his stuff.  Then we bust out the crib tent.  You will stay confined and safe buddy!!!

I like what you omitted from this post, like how you just threw her bed on top of your car and didn’t tie it down and just drove home or how Paige likes her bed so much she only fell out a couple of times onto the floor.

first off…. You didn’t tie it down!?!?!?

We busted out the crib tents last wee for this reason. P figured out that if he threw everything out we had to com back in to put it back in, so he would have to get another hug. Then seeing this H realized that, wow I can get another hug too. It is funny now, they will lay in bed and throw stuff up at the netting so it bounces back at them. they did this for an hour this morning, made getting me and the newborn ready much easier!

Warning… we have the Thomas book that makes train noises ( 2 different ones, in fact). They will eventually drive you crazy! Not to mention ours became possessed and Scott eventually had to take the batteries out, so that they would stop making a weird clicking noise!

I recommend the crib tent now! My little one (well, not so little anymore) used to throw everything out of his crib and when he finally tried to climb out, he broke his arm!

Can I tell you how much I hate Play Doh - just wait Tobie and Eric and I am sure you will feel the same - it gets everywhere! Our play doh table mysteriously disappeared (via a donation). Tell Cole to come by our house we now have a Thomas train table he can play with!

Cindy there is a ton of blue and pink spots all over the carpet now. Oh joy. Did you say you had a pink popper for Paige?

      Go Tobie!
I love getting a great deal - although I don’t know how you managed finding so many!!!
And I think the bed on top of the car is much better than fitting it in the car resting on 3 little heads. :)
      (I’ve considered it… really, I have.)

Yes I do have the popper - I keep meaning to bring it to swim lessons - maybe if you come this week I can give it to you!
