Day 2: Get me out of here!
Dang it! Cole’s been coughing for 2 days straight now. He’s wiped out and his O2 saturations aren’t that hot. The doctor wants to admit him again. I think it will just be an overnight trip to the hospital this time. We think he gets this way because this is the worst allergy season on record. I’ll keep you posted on the big guy’s progress.
UPDATED 8:00 PM: Paige and Drew and I went to visit Tobie and Cole in the hospital. They lifted the RSV ban so we were good to go. Cole looked wiped out. It sucks seeing him on O2 and hooked to an IV. He’s doing better though, barely coughed while we were there. The only bad news is the doctor had written on his chart he had to be off O2 for at least 24 hours before being discharged. Ugh, since he’s still on O2 does that mean he won’t come home tomorrow?
UPDATED 11 AM Wed: He’s not coming home today. He’s still satting around 90 without supplemental O2. He’s in much better spirits today though. Now, how do you keep a 2 year old entertained in a bed for 48 hours?
UPDATED 9 AM Thur: I think we are getting discharged at noon. Fingers crossed.
UPDATE 2 PM Thur: Home again! Back to business as usual.

I’m so sorry to hear this! Poor guy. Our family will be keeping Cole in our prayers. My sister’s nephew is going through this very same thing right now (he’s 2 1/2 and he and his brother were a micro preemies) and it has been such a hard road for him too. Hope you feel better really soon, Cole!

Can’t the insurance set up an O2 tank at your house for them to keep? My little boy was a 24 weeker and he will be 4 in June.. we JUST had our oxygen tank sent back to the medical supply last month.. it was great to have here when he got a chest cold and his saturations dipped…

Oh good…I’ve been checking in today to see how things were. So glad he’s back home.

I’m so glad to see Cole is home again! How wonderful!!! It’s so hard to see him with the O2, I feel so badly for the little man! Hope he’s feeling much better now!
