Yep, Drew now knows how to tackle Cole. It was fun while it lasted for Cole.
I think we need a bigger slide!

Cole had a great night in his new toddler bed (and a great nap today). He only fell out of bed once. I heard a thump and then some wailing and when I went into their room he was just laying there stunned on the floor with his arms out. But I don’t think he realized he could get out of his bed. Even in the morning when he woke up, instead of just coming downstairs, he laid in his bed yelling Mommy until I went and got him.
Other fantastic news: My baby has started walking exclusively. Drew has been walking about eight feet for weeks now. But today I did not see him crawl once. He walked and walked and walked. He figured out how to stand up from the floor so he is happy as can be. My baby is growing up! sniff, sniff. But I’m thrilled I don’t have to carry him pretty soon here. He’s heavy!
Related Posts:So we saw the ENT again on Monday. The verdict is in. Cole will be getting ear tubes put in. The surgery is scheduled for four weeks from now. I like our ENT. He thinks that even though Cole has few ear infections, he has had enough that there is too much time lost between infections with fluid in his ears. His speech should get much better with the tubes. They seem pretty painless and I know that everyone has someone in their family that has tubes. Of course there is a 1% chance that his ears will have permanent damage and we know how good we are with odds.
We’re sick again. I want to scream. All three kids are sick. Okay that was where I had to stop writing last night as Miss Paige was up crying and sick. So I’m back tonight praying we all make it through the night again. Speaking of Miss Paige’s sleeping, I couldn’t ask for better. She is routinely sleeping the ENTIRE night through in her bed. I think last night was a fluke because she wasn’t feeling well. So to make my life hell…I transitioned Cole into his new toddler bed tonight. I know! What the heck are you thinking Tobie? Why not just enjoy this sleeping through the night thing for a while now that Paige has got it down? Well, here’s what I’m thinking. It took Paige a long time to get to this point. I felt like utmost crap for months because neither her nor I were sleeping great. My girl J started with us on Monday in the afternoons and if Cole is like Paige and needs an adjustment period then I can rest or be at my b-game while I have help. Hopefully by the time he gets it, J will be leaving us again when the summer’s over and I will be sleeping great again by August. We’ll see. Just some thoughts. I rearranged the toddler room and it looks great. Taking out the crib really opened up the room which doesn’t really make any sense because the toddler bed is the same size as the crib.
Ummm…what else? Potty training is still piddling along. We totally understand the concept of going to the potty but our implementation is off. We know what’s expected, we know how to do it, but somehow we get lost along the way. We started the reward system of chocolate and stickers. I knew chocolate would be a hit, but I was amazed at how eager they (Paige) is for the stickers. So far Paige has pooped in the potty twice and peed three times. The urine was an accident because she was on the potty for “poopie” but something else leaked out instead. So for now expectations are VERY low to non-existent for the potty. Both Paige and Cole ask to poop on the potty at least three times a day and we normally don’t do anything while we’re on the potty. Two minutes after saying ‘all done’ they get their diapers back on and poop. I think they recognize the poop sensation and know to ask for the potty, but would rather run around to push out the poopy. And forget just one kid going on the potty. If one kid asks for it, I know to bring out both potties. So yes…we’re in the preliminary phase of potty training. No need to panic…..yet!!! Give me to July when preschool is six weeks away and we’re still in diapers. Aaaghhh! I should just get preschool out of my head now. Lower expectations Tob!!
Well, that’s it for now. I need to go to bed so I can be ready for Cole tonight. I wonder how long it will take him to get out of his bed?? ![]()
The tea cups.
Surprisingly, the carousel goes by really quick. It was super hard getting a decent shot. These are the best I got.
Again, Drew wasn’t happy to be put on the ride!
A few minutes later, he’s flying!
For Mother’s Day, we took the kids to the park where they have a bunch of carnival type rides.
Drew wasn’t too happy when we tried to put him on the car ride with P & C.
Once it started moving, he was happy as can be!
She’s cute even when eating string cheese!
Like his new glasses? They were actually his back-up pair, but now they are his full-time pair. I like them a lot better.

Wish you were here!
